Dresser Wayne Receives the Association for Manufacturing Excellence's 2009 Southwestern Regional Excellence Award

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) recently announced Dresser Wayne (www.DresserWayne.com) as the 2009 recipient of its Manufacturing Excellence Award for the Southwestern Region.  The Austin, Texas-based company, an industry pioneer in the retail fueling industry, is one of eight to receive the award that signifies high levels of excellence have been achieved and sustained during the past year.

 

In today's volatile economy, it is necessary for companies to stay competitive in the global marketplace, as well as maintain profitability and stable customers.  All award recipients recognized by AME are not only surviving, but are thriving despite the current economic conditions.

 

"Dresser Wayne successfully applies Lean and Six Sigma tools to their production floors which improves overall productivity, reduces daily costs and maintains outstanding on-time deliveries for customers," said Ralph Keller, AME president.  "Since 2006, Dresser Wayne leaders have focused on improved efficiency and performance."

 

Dresser Wayne's Austin plant manufactures equipment for the energy industry, specializing in valves, actuators, meters, switches, regulators, piping products, natural gas-fueled engines, retail fuel dispensers and associated retail point-of-sale systems, and air and gas handling equipment.  On the Lean journey since 2001, the company has been especially recognized for improved productivity, internal quality and supplier performance.  Dresser Wayne provides its products in over 100 countries.

 

AME's Manufacturing Excellence Awards honor companies that demonstrate significant progress in their journeys toward enterprise excellence through continuous improvement over a three-year period.  Regional award recipients are selected from AME's nine geographic regions in the United States and Canada; one regional recipient is also named the North American award recipient.
